Cala Saona area
Proceeding from the capital of Sant Francesc Xavier for a few kilometers south-west of the island, reaching the coast, you come across one of the most interesting areas of Formentera Cala Saona.
The area of Cala Saona is lovely to relax, both indoor and landscape sea views can be considered among the most beautiful island.
This area, in fact, has a rather lush vegetation, tranquil paths with lush, cultivated fields and small wooded areas particularly characterized by magnificent pine trees.
The part immediately close to the coast is no exception: the sea is crystal clear and very blue, crossed by boats of local fishermen, and are reflected sunsets.
In addition, the small beach nestled between the rocks in the bay of Cala Saona is certainly one of the jewels of Formentera.
In Cala Saona was built a few hotels, and you can find rest or take a drink in several chiringuitos, bars and restaurants.
Despite the presence – albeit small – of facilities for tourism, the pristine nature of the place has remained completely intact.
