Las Playitas & Gran Tarajal

Submitted by

Las PlayitasThe central part of the east coast of Fuerteventura has a number of beaches close and quite similar, with a characteristic black sand of volcanic origin which is in contrast to the beautiful blue waters.

The beach of Las Playitas (also called Las Playas) extends for about 700 meters, near the homonymous village, in this portion of land, which in recent years is being expanded significantly, you can still see the typical houses of local fishermen and enjoy specialties prepared by the excellent seafood restaurants.

A short distance from Las Playitas is the beach of Gran Tarajal, about a mile long: Great Tarajal also is adjacent to the town that bears the same name, and that, by population, is the second of Fuerteventura.
Many of the most beautiful villages of the island and hotels are situated in the area in front of this stretch of coast.

Just south of the two beaches mentioned, we come across in the coves Giniginàmar and Tarajalejo, uncrowded and rather small in size, are also made up of dark sand and pebbles.
